Overview |
||
| The course provides an opportunity to study various mobile applications
that run on the Mobile platform and the Internet, acquire relevant skills and develop an understanding
of the issues surrounding the Mobile platform and the Internet. It provides the opportunity for
students to be creative and entrepreneurial. The course addresses an area
of increasing practical importance in the commercial/industrial world, with
its theoretical and methodological roots in several different disciplines.
The aim is to help the students to work effectively freelance or as team
members in this ever-expanding IT arena. The MSc will provide students with
a fund of knowledge and skills that will prepare them to work in the field
in the \context of support, application development or associated commercial
activities, or to go on to do further research in the subject area.
This course is also aimed to integrate the Principles of Symbian OS curriculum. Gradudates from this course are enouraged to take Accredited Symbian Developer test. The mobile technology and Symbian OS system are relatively recent development. Only during the last decade, businesses, political organisations, lobby groups, media organisations, artists, educators and others have attempted to use them as a major tool for communication. Although there are some similar courses offered in other universities on different aspects of the mobile technology, this course is designed particularly for those who want to get familiar with the Symbian OS principles and are interested in practical mobile applications development.
