The Department's Commitment to Research


The Law Governance and International Relations Department of London Metropolitan University has a well established reputation for research undertaken by its staff in Politics, International Studies and Modern History.

In the UK Higher Education Funding Council Research Assessment Exercise, the Department was rated 3b for its research in Politics and International Studies (i.e. standard of national excellence) and 4 for its research in History (i.e. national excellence with evidence of international excellence in some areas)

Outlined HERE are the research active staff in the Department. In the 1996 national research assessment exercise, the UK Higher Education Funding Council awarded us ratings denoting national excellence for our research in Politics, International Studies and History.

The Department also works closely with The Women’s Library, which is based at London Mteropolitan University and houses one of the most important research collections of feminist history in Europe.
